Abstract of Talk:
From the very first engine designed by Ford during the beginning of 20th Century, vehicle has changed its portfolio a lot. Along with basic expectation of utilizing the vehicle for locomotion, people demand more and more for power, entertainment, safety, comfort and environment friendly machine. Vehicle in 21st century has changed a lot. We have higher end infotainment, telematics, safety and comfort features. Due to concerns of global warming and non-renewable energy, more research focus is available for vehicle performance and energy optimization. This lead to the way of low tail pipe emission strategies, hybrid engines and battery electric vehicles.
In this talk we are going to discuss on following topics: ·
Various source of emission in vehicle regulations and mitigation · Passive and Active systems in vehicle to monitor and control emissions · Trends in energy generation and distribution.
Profile of the speaker:
Kuruvilla Jose is a post graduate in electronic science from Cochin University of Science and Technology and also hold M.Sc. Engineering in Communication engineering from Coventry University, UK. Kuruvilla served Robert Bosch for more than a decade and was responsible for the design and development of various electronic controls for Engine Control Unit. His area of expertise include Air Systems controls, tail pipe emission reductions controls and emission legislations compliance verification for commercial vehicle and passenger car diesel engine, powertrain Electronics Controls and Validations.
