Call for Expression of Interest from Surf Schools For the Surf Incubator Programme at Varkala, Kerala

KSUM is inviting Expressions of Interest from Surf Schools for onboarding in the Surf Incubator Programme by Kerala Startup Mission.

The TBI has following objectives:

Facilitate surf entrepreneurs to register their startups as proprietorships/partnerships/companies and secure the accreditations and business licences required.

Facilitate Business Mentoring for Surf Entrepreneurs by experienced Surf School Operators from around the world to develop Surf Schools to international standards.
Provide Seed Grants to surf entrepreneurs
Become an enabling force to develop the surf-tourism ecosystem by working along with Kerala Tourism, Kerala Police, Fisheries, Ports and other departments under the Government of Kerala
Conduct all necessary ecosystem development programmes for the overall growth of the Surf Tourism Industry

Offerings

The Incubatees will be provided access to spaces
Assistance for certifications for recognitions
Business Mentoring for Surf Entrepreneurs by experienced Surf School Agencies
Technology development support to improve the current products and equipments of Surf Entrepreneurs.
A maker ecosystem for prototyping & fabrication like fablabs
Grant support for potential surfing entrepreneurs
Enabling collaborations with key stakeholders who can work as ecosystem partners
Access to Surf Promotion Festivals and Events including competitions.

Eligibility

An accredited Surf School should be based out of Kerala with relevant experiences in Surf School activities

Selection

The applicants will be selected by an Expert Committee with domain experts and sector experts
Basic due diligence and verification checks on the background

Admission

KSUM will issue membership certificates for the Surf Incubator by KSUM
