The department of Lottery in association with Kerala Startup Mission is  hosting the Lottery Challenge based on the Problem Statement given below
The Kerala State Lotteries Department is facing two significant challenges in the process of lottery ticket scanning and authentication while distributing prizes.
The Problems to be solved by the Counting Machine
1
The first challenge is scanning the tickets that have won prizes at the 35 offices spread across Kerala. Presently, it is done manually by scanning the tickets using a QR code scanner. However, this process is time-consuming and requires significant human resources. On an average, 300,000 lottery tickets are manually scanned on a daily basis, which leads to considerable delay and errors in the process. Therefore, the department is in search of a machine that can scan the QR code of the tickets at a faster pace, which will lead to efficient and accurate disbursal of prize money
2
The second challenge faced by the department is identifying fake lottery tickets. With the increasing prevalence of fake lottery tickets, the department needs to ensure that only genuine tickets are counted and awarded prizes. Currently, the department relies on manual checks and verification to identify fake tickets, which is a cumbersome and time-consuming process. To address this challenge, the department is seeking a machine that can verify the authenticity of lottery tickets quickly and accurately. This machine will help the department to save time, reduce errors, and increase the reliability of the prize disbursal process.
