Call for Expression of Interest (EOI)
Development of Curriculum for Student Tinkering
Activities in Schools
Deadline: November 15, 2025
Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha Kerala (SSK), has established the Centres for Early Innovations (CEI) program to integrate creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning into school education. These CEI labs function as mini maker spaces in schools, providing students with exposure to digital fabrication, electronics, and project-based learning aligned with the vision of Industry 4.0.
Currently, 28 Centres have been established, and 70 more are being set up across Kerala. To ensure that these centres become effective extensions of classroom learning, there is a need for a structured and contextual curriculum that connects school subjects with practical, project-based learning activities.
Through this EOI, KSUM invites expressions of interest from qualified agencies, organisations, and institutions with proven expertise in curriculum design, STEAM education, and maker-based learning to develop this curriculum.
Objective
The objective of this engagement is to design and develop a comprehensive curriculum framework for students of classes 6–12 to be implemented in Centres for Early Innovations. The curriculum should
  • Align with the existing school syllabus and complement academic learning.
  • Introduce students to maker-based and digital fabrication activities.
  • Be easy for teachers to implement during school hours.
  • Include clear instructional material, project ideas, and safety protocols.
