Scheme
Overview
The Creative Economy Fund is a proposed initiative to facilitate the establishment of a dedicated Venture Capital Fund focused on the Creative Economy sector in Kerala. The scheme is designed to anchor a professionally managed venture capital fund that invests in creative, cultural, and IP-led enterprises with scalable business models.
Kerala has a vibrant creative and cultural ecosystem spanning arts, crafts, literature, publishing, media, AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics), design-led enterprises, and emerging digital platforms built around intellectual property. While several enterprises in these sectors have demonstrated revenue traction and growth potential, access to organised venture capital—particularly at the growth stage—remains limited.
Through this initiative, Kerala Startup Mission proposes to catalyse institutional capital into the creative economy by anchoring a sector-focused venture capital fund under its Fund of Funds framework, with participation from institutional, private, and NRI investors.
