Kerala Startup Mission has designed and launched a project Research Innovation Network Kerala (RINK) to commercialize Innovations from Research Institutions. KSUM has designed a technology platform with the support of C-DAC and all leading Research Institutions and a good number of startups are onboarded. The project aims to accelerate the pace of technology commercialization by connecting Researchers with Startups and Corporates.
One of the interventions planned as part of the RINK implementation is to run a sector specific incubation programme for selected researchers. This would enable researchers and startups to learn how to commercialize their research. Researchers will be taught about the different concepts, methods and practicalities of commercialization of their research, including creating a startup company as well as the more traditional method of licensing.
To identify and select Innovators to the proposed Research Incubation Programme, KSUM proposed to run an Innovation challenge among Researchers. This would be open to Researchers and Research leads from state and National Research Institutions and researchers registered with accredited research departments and Universities.
The challenge would be conducted as a National Research Innovation Challenge. The challenge would be open in the following sectors:
Space, Agriculture, Lifesciences, Healthcare, Smart City, Cyber security, cloud computing, Consumertech and Ayurveda.
