Job Description

As part of the SSK World Bank project, KSUM will be designing, manufacturing and supplying a digital fabrication developer kit which could include digital plotters, cardboard cutters etc. This will be supplied to 28 schools in addition to the off the shelf equipment and tools being procured through the tender process.

Job Responsibilities:

Conduct research and interaction studies to outline the additional requirements and challenges involved in designing a user-friendly CNC Machine intended for deployment in schools.
Play a lead role during the conceptualisation and design phases of physical components, software interfaces, and operational workflows, focusing on user perspectives, visual appeal and ease of use for students and teachers without prior technical skills.
Provide necessary design inputs and feedback to the engineering team and ensure necessary user testing to refine the designs based on feedback.
Simplify complex workflows into beginner-friendly interactions.
Demonstrate a curiosity to explore and understand alternative products and industry-standard approaches for user interaction in similar contexts.

Experience and Skills

Good understanding of Digital fabrication technologies.
Reasonable exposure to the STEM training methodologies used in schools.
Worked on multiple machine-building projects.
Experience in designing human-machine interaction in software/hardware.

Commitment : Part-Time (20 hours per week)

Duration : 9 months

Consulting Fee : Rs. 40,000/- per month

Educational Qualification : Bachelor’s degree in Design/Engineering

Experience : Minimum 4 years of total experience with at least two years in relevant roles

Maximum Age Limit : 35 years as on 01.01.2024
