Samagra Shiksha Kerala has partnered with Kerala Startup Mission to set up and run Centres for Early Innovation across Kerala. This project is part of the World Bank aided centrally sponsored STARS scheme, which aims to promote STEM education in schools and create a culture of tinkering and making.

What makes this project different from the other Tinkering Labs is its unique approach aimed at reaching a wider audience and not just a few students. The program aims to reach every student in the schools and inculcate curiosity and aptitude for technology in their formative years so that they can go on and use these skills for problem-solving and innovating.

The library of projects being put together by KSUM will be designed to aid teachers in the delivery of key concepts in physics, chemistry, biology and maths in the classrooms. Through these projects, every student will get to see the potential of digital fabrication and interact with various machines in the lab.

About the Role

The Program Manager will be responsible for designing the frameworks and programs that can democratise the access to tinkering skills among underprivileged schools and students. He or she should spearhead the team that will implement the program effectively to achieve the goals set by World Bank for the STARS scheme.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with World Bank, Samagra Shiksha Kerala, and other external stakeholders to create frameworks that can promote STEM learning in schools.
• Oversee the creation of comprehensive learning and development programs aimed to inculcate curiosity and aptitude for tinkering and making among students and teachers. The programs should have a project-based learning approach and tie in with the school curriculum.
• Handle the budgets, resources, and logistics for the programs, including managing the content development team and coordinating with other team members.
• Manage the team of trainers spread across multiple districts to deliver the program using appropriate methods and tools.
• Continuously assessing the effectiveness of learning programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, making adjustments to improve outcomes and ensuring the program remains relevant.
• Maintaining detailed records of program and learning outcomes. Providing regular reports to senior management on the impact of the initiative.

Qualification

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.

• Minimum of six years of total experience with at least two years of experience as an ecosystem enabler or in innovation development programs/projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills. Experience in designing and implementing educational programs, particularly in STEM education.
• Proficiency in resource management, budgeting, and logistics.
• Expertise in program delivery, including team management and training coordination.
• Analytical skills for program evaluation and improvement.
• Strong documentation and reporting abilities.

Monthly Salary : Rs. 90,000/- per month
